Banksy (born 1974) the creator of above telephone booth is also and foremost a prolific graffiti artist from Bristol, UK, whose artwork has appeared throughout London and other locations around the world.
Banksy uses different techniques to communicate a message, which is often political and/or humorous. His original street art form, which combines graffiti with a distinctive stencilling technique, has achieved a certain underground notoriety and widespread coverage in the mainstream media. Despite this attention, he carefully manages to keep his real identity hidden.

i interpret this as a statement against the apparent disregard shown towards iconic british utilitarian design. i mean, the USA has it in spades - it's classic cool - but the brits just have obsolescence and old-fashionism. yet! yet...we have the red phonebox, the pillar box, the black cab, the routemaster...

was banksy born in 1974? i wonder who knows his age and not his ID. there was talk that because of the proliferous work and being mostly done by stencil, ''banksy'' was more of a collective than an individual.

Bansky probably started as an individual and many tried to copy his style. I like your interpretation Ian ... and yeah, Sting is an other of those "names" ...

Thanks Meander, but I am quite happy with my blog-spot site, no commercials, no popups, no nothing - except what I put up.
I am sometimes even having a hard time updating this site, to add more "channels" presently would be completely out of my range.
Thanks a lot anyway.
