Peoples of fame an fortune killed in Pakistan - looks bad for the Middle East and not so great for the US. Pakistan was the US's wild card during the "fight against terrorism", an ally of sorts. Now this is all in shambles. Not my worries really. Instead I just drive by those fields here to go to that Radio Shack downtown to purchase a 2 Gig USB removable storage device. You might call that the most profane move. But you see, all of these political commotions and the adjoining violence and assassinations don't seem to concern me --- not yet, or maybe not anymore!
So how is it with you? Do you still have trust in the representation of your officials, the clerks and fools? Believe it, I lost confidence for now in public commotions and these elaborate propositions that lead nowhere by politicians of any color. What are we left with, what is there to do? You give me an answer - I will brood.

Whatta question for a Sunday morning but I'll try out a couple of thoughts. I'm seing a lot of as above so below kind of behaviour. For example, the chief of security at the hospital where my husband works left to start a new business and took the data base with him. A week before Christmas everybody got brochures from him. An example of 'we can be trusted with your personal info - you can't'. Another thing even closer to home was me getting a $14k bill from a collection agency three days before Christmas - half payable immediately. So, since their phones were jammed, I was forced to run my credit report. It was fine and next morning I got through only to be told that Chase had sold off their uncollected debts but had accidentally included a percentage that had been cleared in the early 90's. An example of 'we made a bunch of bad loans to the mortgage industry so we're sending you a bill. if you pay it - fine. if not, never mind'.
I don't believe the Republicans have any inclination to field a viable presidential candidate this time and I won't read anything that doesn't outright state that their process is a clown act. Of course, they've had some success with clowns and if there's another homeland 'incident' all bets are off. Then again, a very consevative doctor of our acquaintance asked Jerry the other day if he'd ever seen 'V is for Vendetta'? J answered 'what do you think 911 was about?' Jer went on to explain about the American Enterprise Institute and their 1998 statement about a new Pearl Harbor.. and check out Loose Change. Maybe things are sinking in while we take a break and get on with our work. Maybe I should start doing political rants but there are people better at it than me.
Take it easy Zee. We're old enough to have witnessed all this before and all things pass.
i dont think anything is ever going to change
Susan, it is going to be Hillary this time around. Not that I particularly feel amiable towards her. But she is nevertheless going to be better than the previous idiot.
I'm glad you were able to straighten things out, but it leaves me in bewilderment how this can happen in the first place. How is a person without internet access or other means, fight back?
You are quite cheerful today, Cynnie!
What if it DOES change, not by decree, but by necessity?
Hi Zee,
I agree it's troublesome fighting back and without those things even more so but they were on a fishing expedition. It happens and it's nasty. Likely that's why their phones were jammed when I first tried.
Thanks for being patient with my long rant this morning. The coffee was extra potent.
ps - It likely will be Hillary and I'm not thrilled either but we'll see.
you sure have potent coffee Susan :)
I have little to no faith at all in officials ... my faith is like the status of the trees in the photo staying forever the way the shot shows them, naked, lacking the thing which makes them alive again.
AM- where do we go from now?
If the trees can't carry the burden, and they are naked and without leaves, how must humans feel?
