Bootleg scratch of "Earth & Sky" and health insurance (<--- click this title for sound) CD, with a few other songs will be avaiable, remastered of course, in late summer

It has come to my attention, that the US congress has passed a bill yesterday to catch up (a little) to the rest of the "developed" countries in this world. So, any move is fine in that direction in my book, even if it means to count little steps at a time. We don't live in the Wild West anymore and our children deserve better than that, not driving around in a stage-coach searching for gold in barren land, this is not an option anymore.
The Pilgrims are long gone, face it - those days are over!
Now we are "just" people and we have to live up to that reality and find our ways.
And then, the children will inherit the glory or the mess we create - it is up to us  how we shape or prepare the future for them.

By the way, I finally figured out how to embed my audio sketch of this song "Earth and Sky" in a somewhat clumsy way - just click on the header of this post, and it will start playing. Next week, we (my brother and I) will record a "proper" version. I will keep you updated. Keep in mind, there are many booboos on this one, it really is just a personal exploration of a draft leading towards a  final version.

thank you zee! i clicked on the header, and was asked to save, so i saved. i'm listening to you singing. you have a beautiful, rich voice!
i'm glad to have this version, because it's honest. "proper" versions sometimes end up being too polished; they lose the nuance that makes them work.
it's going on my ipod!

and yay for obama. there are a lot of good things in this legislation. it is more insurance reform than "healthcare" reform.
it was badly needed legislation that will protect all americans from some of the most egregious practices of insurance companies xuch as denying coverage because of lifetime limits or alleged pre-existing conditions.

Well my goodness , Sera , loading down this sketch onto your iPod - that is ... I don't know what to say, an honor perhaps. Thank you. I will have a CD out by late summer with a bunch of originals and maybe one or two cover tunes. I'll send it to you when it is done.
Did you find new work? I am still working on my front.
And yes, even if so little, the new health care bill did SOME progress. One step at a time babe...

I think the song is fantastic.
Better than most of the stuff my brother listens to. Maybe you should send him a CD, too.

I don't think the health care bill is as good or as bad as they claim. As usual, the extremes on either end drive the dialogue, and the truth lies somewhere in between.

Mercutio - got your prints ready, perhaps I will send them tomorrow.
Thanks for the compliment, I'll keep in touch.

i love cover songs. there are some songs that are so perfect (zombie by the cranberries, for instance) that nobody will ever make a "better" version. but sometimes i hear a cover that gives a song a new (or deeper) meaning.
for instance, i never quite got billie jean until jason mraz sang it. i mean, i heard the words, but they never "clicked" when michael jackson sang the song.

She came and stood right by me
Then the smell of sweet perfume
This happened much too soon
She called me to her room
Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son

i mean, the words are plain as day. but a good cover will make you listen to it differently than the original.
