Hallelujah

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
that David played and it pleased the Lord
but you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth the fitht
the minor fall, the major lift
the battled king composing Hallelujah.

Your faith was strong, but you needed proof
you saw her bathing on the roof
her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
she broke your throne, and she cut your hair
and from your lips she drew the Hallelujah...

(LEONARD COHEN, and five more verses after these two)

I had the luxury today to recline outside on a stretcher, nah - you don't call it that, some kind of mobile steel tubed sofa for 45 minutes. What the heck, you get what I mean. So I gazed up into the sky and followed the tracks of hypersonic-fat-ass-military planes scratching artificial clouds into the sky. To some extend it was pretty how the patterns evolved - and then dissolved again. There is something poetic about momentary existence, be it in clouds, or the pulse of the heart of a reclining person staring at the sky.
Sometimes life can be so simple, even hours before a groundbreaking general election.

Nice - a great song.

I like the words to that tune, but often felt he had his storylines a bit mixed up. Oh well. So long as there is a Hallelujah in your life somewhere. Anything/Everything is but a moment in time.

...I am learning to play this song as we speak, Gary.

Aggie, I can give you a link on uTube where a bunch of Norwegians (my god, from all people) do a really good rendering of this song.

it is a great song and kinda funny it should've found its way into 'Shrek'.. fortunately, the kiddies have not paid much attention to it other than the catchy 'hallelujah' part..

don't ask won't tell..phew..

Nice sky, like the color! Its good to lounge outside once in awhile, suspending your worries, just relaxing and soaking everything in; its good therapy, I do it all the time. But didn't you have a snow storm pass through your area recently?

Zee said...

... that storm is passed, Cym. Tomorrow will be an other one of a different kind.

Hey Ingrid - why are you so negative about 'Shrek' - I thought they did a marvelous job ?!?

i love hallelujah. it's such a beautiful song. i can't decide whether i like better kd lang's version or jeff buckley's. rufus wainwright is pretty good too.
it's called a reclining lawnchair. all time in a lawnchair is momentary existence.
it's not poetic to see someone sitting in a plastic lawnchair wearing a speedo.
hallelujah!

kd lang's version is awesome, almost forgot about her... but she did a very good performance. It is to be found somewhere on uTube.
Jeff Buckley - well, I like his version, absolutely. The rest of his stuff -?- not so sure.
What do you mean with speedo?
I'm either naked or else clad in a leather jacket (and other stuff that supplements for the absence of fur).

i hope it's a *long* leather jacket.
and i'm glad you shaved the fur off.
...i think.
