Davos

... and the greedy 2% of the world population who don't give a shit and still smile on the verge of collapse of the global economy whilst raking in gorgeous profits as we common folks just stumble along, barely...
That is what it is all about at the G-9 conference. Are there more than nine "G"'s right now, in Davos Switzerland? So the theme on the invitation is:

How can we suck the last morsel out of every ordinary sucker and exploit them until they all drop dead.
Question is, what will happen with those infamous smiling guys from these meetings once thereafter, at a time, when there is no one else left .... to exploit. What will they do?
Or is exploitation a repetitive theme - forever, on this earth?

As I said previously, send those suckers up to the moon. They can have their own party there. Maybe we even supply them with a few containers of air. Once the oxygen runs out, the party will be over; last waltz for them.

OK. I am glad you brought it up.
When i heard about this happening in Davos on the radio. I thought; Don't those people go home and see that the majority of the people don't live like them? They must.
And the ones who see it and actually act upon it, bless them.
But we are the ones that are part of the richest 5% (i don't know this for a fact) And i wish that i would ,could do more to not exploit others. Almost anything i buy, down the line there is someone working for me for a dollar a day.
That bugs the heck out of me. Any suggestions?

It certainly feels like exploitation is the name of the game. I worry that for the few who think that they can never have enough, even though they have so much more than the rest of us can even comprehend (their stuff has stuff and their money makes money), exploitation is just the means to an end. They figure that they must continue to take and never give because any shift in the dynamic might cost them something.

It's a sad state of affairs. What would be so wrong with a world where everyone is comfortable and no one is either extremely rich or extremely poor?

Go back in History Zee ... The French Revolution, The Russian Revolution ... the people will only take so much and then no more. People in power ignore history to their peril.

So Aggie, when is the next Revolution - or did it already start?

Jozien - just got to know today that there were massive demonstrations in Geneva!

Lisa - if my math is correct, the over 7 trillion in perks spend so far in the US, distributed evenly to the population instead of companies, would give - everyone (babies and kids included) a $1,400 check.
Oh, by the way ... that money came from us to start with, it ours anyway.
Pretty bizarre this whole thing!

Davos ranks are thinning from the previous so called masters of the universe who are no longer invitees as their self created ‘black holes’ continue to impale and suck everything up into its cortex from which no light can ever emerge.

The last note I heard was from Florida where (because of the lax land transfer rules - ref bankruptcy )unusually generous transfer arrangements had been instituted for chattels and family homes transferred to spouses (the oldest trick in the book) – e g $14 million mansions transferred to the wife for just $10 to escape the mounting supernova of creditors and bailiffs vociferous clamor to try to recover what little sap is left over from the money tree. As far as I can gather this year at Davos no one’s in agreement about anything so they opted to agree to all had big parties instead this time.

Best wishes

You are right Lindsay. Do we call this "doomsday-party" or just an other Rocky Horror Picture Show?

zee, if you have time, can you please do me a favor?
watch or read "shake hands with the devil"... if you are not familiar with Canadian General, Romeo Dallaire...

there is a a book, a movie, and a documentary all with the same title.. (you pick - I rather the documentary) I think you will like it, and you will understand a bit of my frustration with the world and the UN...

those who exploit others will ultimately consume themselves.
a new class of exploiters will emerge.
meanwhile, the world goes on.
