Poem contest

So yes, the spell did brake. The earth is breathing in the light and warmth of the cosmos - bringing to life a new cycle of growth and prosperity. The crocus flowers are budding and blooming in my yard, the sign of change has come - both outwardly and inwardly.
It would be awesome if you know any spring poems, citing and writing them as a response on my blog. I thumbed through my poetry books on my shelves, but didn't find anything adequate. So therefore you are welcome to post your own creations or a copy of someone else who you appreciate right here. Despite my work load theses days, I might come up with an original verse myself - tomorrow. Who knows ...

I composed this one for Laura undertaking Lenten studies and attempted to link new knowldge with new life.

Laura's lenten Robes

Spring is in the air in the rustle of the breeze
Spring is in the air in the whispers of the trees
And changes are coming soon
Lenten robes of sweet blooms

Spring is in the air, so make your fresh start
Spring is in the air, so grow your sweet heart
And changes are coming soon
Lenten robes of sweet blooms

Spring is in the air, in your blue sky
Spring is in the air, birds cry as they fly
And changes are coming soon
Lenten robes of sweet blooms

Birds renew a faith in mother soil
Nourish a faith, of dear natures toil
And changes are coming soon
Lenten robes of sweet blooms
Best wishes

Whan that aprill with his shoures soote
The droghte of march hath perced to the roote....

The words "spring" and "poetry" together remind me of Chaucer's Prologue to his Canterbury Tales, and that reminds me of being in college and studying Chaucer, and that was a very happy time for me in many ways.

Here's one by my son Ryan that might fit the bill Zee:

Precious Life (A Blessing)

Precious stones
Precious trees
We all one.
Precious friends
Precious enemies
We are one.
Precious roots
Precious leaves
Breathe the sun.
Precious day
Precious memories
We learn from.

Precious sun
Precious rain
We all one.
Precious water
Precious grain
We feed on.
Precious night
Precious day
Lead us on.
Precious healing
Precious pain
We learn from.

Praise the mother for our birth,
Respect each other,
Respect the Earth.
Give thanks every moment - everyday.
Precious Life,
Namaste.
