Soap Opera News

Osama bin Laden’s niece, an aspiring singer who also posed for sexy photo shoots, has signed up for a reality television show about her life and her as yet unfulfilled “quest for stardom.”
Wafah Dufour (she changed her last name ... don't blame her) will play a young woman who falls in love, has her heart broken, worries about her looks, doesn’t always listen to her mother, and hasn’t spoken to her father in years...

Whatever, the ingredients for "starlet-fame" are all here. The right "curves", the regular script for the show, and a noticeable personal biography. Even though I don't watch TV, I'll predict it will be a flop. The US has not forgiven the "Bin Laden's" yet and victims of 9/11 are already climbing the barricades in protest. Of course that is silly - can't throw everyone into the same pot. But there is something about a tainted name ... something that never goes away, no matter how hard you try.

Wafah I understand is one of 300 nieces and nephews of Osama claiming she has never met him.
She’s publically denounced her uncle and was in Geneva at the time of the attacks.

Her Father has disowned her as she refuses to follow Saudi practices of arranged marriages and her Mother apparently was able to keep her in her custody and away from the Saudi Kingdom.

I wish he good luck but I agree it’s unlikely she will succeed as society will tar her unjustifiably with the wrong colored paint

What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet... But then again, there is no one with the last name Hitler who would openly admit to it...

Lindsay brings up a good point. It seems like she is a strong, independent woman who has sacrificed certain personal relationships to live life by her own rules. She may actually find fame because she is a novelty. A niece of Osama? Let's tune in to see what shenanigans she's up to next. Not only that, she's trading on her family name to get into the spotlight. If she was concerned that being a niece of Osama would damage her career, wouldn't she have simply changed her name with no fanfare and not publicized the connection?

I agree with Lauren.

I think she is using her Osama connection to the best of her advantage. It almost seems as though she is name dropping, and it's her connection is her claim to fame, so to speak.

I think she's lovely, but to be honest, the show sounds a bit trite. I'm thinking I've seen it before. Still, good luck to her.

I also heard she is one of 300 or so nieces and she has never met him. So what is the big deal. Can she sing? If so that is what will make her career. Hopefully.
