welcome to my mess

As I look around, I glance onto Raphael's picture "the school of Athens" amongst my mess. It strikes me to be some kind of message. All these philosophers, thinkers, artists, astronomers, physicists, statesman ... gathered in one place!
If only humans these days could do the same, congregate and exchange their knowledge instead of fighting for issues unrelated to the common man.

Here are some quotes from the more prominent people in this picture:

Plato:
As the builders say, the larger stones do not lie well without the lesser.

Aristotle:
Anyone can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right person at the right time, and for the right purpose and in the right way - that is not within everyone's power and that is not easy.

Socrates:
If all misfortunes were laid in one common heap, whence everyone must take an equal portion, most people would be contented to take their own and depart.

I love the Aristotle quote... and yes, wouldn't it be great to have philosophers and artists guide us instead of politicians, generals and morons?

Your blog has a certain kind of profoundness attached to it...which kind of connected to me...
Maybe because I have always had a soft corner for all things creative be it arts, poetry or just the way I look at life...
Read all your posts on the current page...your photgraphy skills are comendable.
I loved the shire's and the rock's pic, specially the bartender and the painter duo.
And I took the link to 'Last Supper''s painting but maybe my internet is freaking out with the high pixel value the oic has..so I guess I have to try it sometime else...
Which means I shall have to come back.
Thankyou.Keep well.

That's a cool painting; I'll have to get a copy for myself. Personally I think your "mess" gives this photo character; and your tools are sort of symbolic of the ideals these philosophers held, that of building an enlightened society.

I so much agree with you Gary!

Ha, fancy that, a Cindarella on my doorsteps. Its funny, the original German version is less flattering: Aschenbrödel, the maiden who sits by the hearth and keeps control over the ashes ... Anyway, she gets her beautiful dress and finally the prince. So all is good.
Thanks for stepping by and leaving your comment. Show up again anytime you wish.

Miau Cym ... you are truly a transformation magician! By the way, how come you gave up your blog?

"How come you gave up your blog?"

It no longer suited me because I no longer wish to be associated with Taoism. I've got other projects in the works though, and am thinking of creating a homepage too, to keep all my virtual activities organized: writings, links, blogs, etc., that'll be a little more permanent.

I guess it's easier to fight and be angry than to make the effort to talk and exchange positive ideas ... especially in our world today.

I LOVE that mess by the way :D
