Last Christmas was a horrid time as we had a very ill family member. This year we hope it will be more of a time of remembrance and celebration instead. I hope you all have a blessed day and a really great New Year.
It is already Christmas Day here.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

No anecdotes I am afraid... I have spent last week and a half going after my visa renewal for the US. What a nightmare! Glad that part is over, now maybe I can relax and enjoy myself? :)

blessings of the season. i have fond memories of christmas breakfasts when i lived in a log cabin on the banks of the Yukon river, upstream of Dawson City. there was always a charlie brown christmas tree decorated with construction paper origami stars, salt dough ornaments and paper chains. no trace of tinsel or blinking lights. it somehow became the day i always made a breakfast of home made frying pan granola, still hot from the pan, and with a huge dollop of snow ice cream melting atop it. the snow ice cream was made by packing a big bowl with fresh, clean snow, and tossing into it a mixture of condensed canned milk, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla. life was simpler then.
