the swine will end up munching on pig tails

What is it - the big three? Ford, GM and Chrysler? It appears to be the "big two" fairly soon. GM and Chrysler are in merger talks, General Motors and Chrysler have held preliminary talks about a merger or an acquisition of Chrysler by GM. Chrysler, once owned, and then disowned by Mercedes Benz, is now contemplating to be swallowed up by an other faltering company (GM) who already found itself injected by testosterone and cash by the US government. How can that be?
Soon there will be only one company in the US, and one car: "The car"
Macho grills will belong to the past, and eight cylinders a novelty for Sunday excursions within a twenty five mile range. Just a show off from times were prosperous and powerful racks still dominated the road.
I have nothing intelligent to say, other than that I follow with bewilderment the downfall of a mighty empire. May grace seek our individual treads, and keep us from harms way.
BYD, China's biggest battery maker, isn't wasting any time carving its niche in the new world of electric cars and plug-in hybrids. It all started with the F6DM plug-in hybrid sedan, followed by the smaller and less expensive F3DM plug-in hybrid compact car.
Now BYD has introduced its E6 electric car at the Beijing International Auto Show. It takes the shape of a crossover, or MPV, and will be built on on the F6's platform (same as the F6DM, which could be sold in Europe by 2010).
BYD E6 Electric Vehicle Specifications
So far, all we know is that the E6 will be a 5 seater with an acceleration of 0 to 100 kph of around 10 seconds. Top speed should be 160 kph (100 mph), and the battery pack, which is located under the rear passenger seats, will be based on BYD's own lithium-ion iron phosphate technology. Range per charge is expected to be 300 km (186 miles).
But most impressive of all:
"BYD projected the battery has a life of 2,000 cycles, for a lifetime range of about 600,000 km (373,000 miles)"

If this is only half true, it would still add up to be 135,000 miles or so. I guess after that you would have to invest into new batteries.
Point being: Why don't the ailing car manufactures in Detroit open up their bottom drawers where all the patents they bought up over the years do rest. Why don't they get it. Say good buy to oil, unless you want the Chinese nation to take all the credits for manufacturing the new technology in the years to come. Your choice "Big Three"!

P.S. I think the white boots in the above picture are very sexy!

The last picture: Bush and the IMF (International Monetary Fund) on Friday - or is it the "G-what" - seven, eight, nine ten, holding their pricks and cunts so the swine will not bite.
It will be in vain. This situation is beyond control, past the private parts, stumbling into new territory.
OK, I rambled enough. Time to clean up my tools and the messy garage. That's were I personally start to change the situation. In the mean time, let the dirty swines eat pig-tails for nourishment.

it used to be one needed a clean bill of health from a doctor in order to get married. apparently, in the new world order, sickies can marry sickies. born from bad genes, one can only hope any resulting offspring will be born healthy and not too ugly.
why do they do that, this truncated union that defies all laws of natural selection? because if the beast grows big enough, the un-naturalists in government have an obligation to keep them alive.
"survival of the fittest" has become "survival of the sickest." it rather turns darwin's theory on its head. perverse!

ps. i'm not a pig farmer, but aren't pig tails dirty? don't pigs sit in the same mud they pee in?
just a thought: if a pig eats his own tail, he should be renamed bob.
umm.. a pig is the same as a swine, isn't it? i'm not sure of the difference.

Seraphine!
It amazes me that you always find a twist, something to make me laugh, an angle I have passed by and neglected, some odd observation that didn't catch my eye. Perhaps it comes with your profession, being attentive to detail. I don't know; but it is!
I was in Europe for two weeks. The "Darvinistic Reversal" was not as obvious there as it seems to be in the States. People actually still looked as if they are healthy and beautiful. But even there, the exceptions are on the increase, the "natural selection" being soon a path of the past. I don't want to illiterate with strong words this point, it will sound ugly and not very pleasing.
Just a point about pig-farming. If you give these animals a chance to roam freely and give them enough space to take care of themselves, they are actually one of the cleanest animals around.
A pig is a swine only, when it has no chance to live otherwise.
Does that make sense?

Everytime I am stuck behind some extra large beast of a GM vehicle, I curse its maker and then it's owner. I cannot believe that Americans fell for the idea that they could drive those massive things without consequences.

Wow - that sounded awfully sanctimonious, but oh well.

Zee,
When you say downfall of a mighty empire, do you mean the USA or the industrialized world? Believe me, if US economy fails, the worlds economy fails.....including China and Russia. Personally, who cares if China makes a good battery....they can't protect their own children from Melamine poisoning, human rights violations are atrocious, Tibet, pollution from coal plants and other sources is terrible, wages are rock bottom, the majority live in poverty, the Olympics were a joke (fair competition?) etc, etc. Instead of tearing down what is essentially American, including the Big Three, we need to find ways to help them move into a new and positive direction, namely alternative energies and technologies, while making them profitable again. If you think we are going back to farming and hunting, think again. Negativity feeds on itself! We need more positive thinkers, Obama is a good start. And by the way, positive intelligent, humane and compassionate people often make a lot of money too.

It is one and the same, Celloman! The US falters, the rest of the industrial world will as well.
Apropos China, does the US give a flying fuck about their own common people?
Welcome to the world of greed brother, where the top 2% scavenge the cream of wealth. We are left in the dark, the people who actually work.

And they threw Volvo away :-(
leading to 30 000 new unemployed here in Sweden ... guess GM means Game Making!

what the heck are you talking about Anna-lys???
Don't tell me that they fired 30,000 Volvo workers in Sweden, that is crazy!

GM doesn't even own Volvo, Ford does. GM owns Saab.

Zee, You are painting with a broad brush, yes, we do give a flying fuck about ourselves! Greed actually is a universal disease, not something which is particularly associated with any one country. Just happens there is a lot of money in the US. However, here if you are disenfranchised, one can freely speak about it, even do something about it, for the most part.......there is no internet censorship like in China.....one can learn truths if so desired, and find solutions. Frankly, many people are lazy and would rather the government do everything for them.

Yea Domenick,
Saab has lost its luster. I owned a 95 (1969) Station wagon and a 900 (1986) sedan. Both cars had their issues, but they were fun to drive.
