fly - go, go and fly

The last geese gathered and started their journey south. With shrieking sounds they said good bye to the ones left stationary on the ground. May their travels be safe.
Sometimes I wish we as humans would be able to elevate ourselves like geese and see things from above, a perspective a bit more unifying than those petty morasses of daily jungle life we so eagerly swallow as our standard nutrition.

when i was little i always felt sad when i saw birds leaving us for the winter, i asked my mother why they have to go, why the have to leave us. she told me that they have to go on holiday and then i felt a bit jealous cos i would be stuck there and freeze. now i look at the sky and wish they'd have a safe journey.

Zee,
Thank you for your kind comment on my blog about the homeless myths. Ever since Ann Coulter posted my home phone number on her website, I have had some militant right-wing trolls firmly parked at my blog. I apologize for the bickering going on there. They do not like our 'spiritiually progressive' approach.

Lydia
I am flattered that you even have time to post here with the masses of comments you have to sift through on your blogs ...
Well, I try to keep it simple, a blend of thoughts spiked with pictures I take (occasionally a stolen one:) ... visit again if you wish!

Calamity
I still feel a longing in my soul when I see these birds leave, just like Nils Holgerson, the story of a kid who travelled on a goose back from north to south of Sweden.

HA LOVE the story of Nils Holgerson! Read it (translated in Dutch of course) when I was young. Naturally, I also read most of Astrid Lingdren's books but that's another topic. When I read your 'wish' I immediately thought of Jonathon Livingston Seagull. To lift oneself up to a higher consciousness, or at least attempt to should be something every human being aspire too. I think we'd be in less of a mess (a term to cover up all evils) right now,
btw..going back to the profile look eh?

That post brings back childhood memories of reading Paul Gallico's short story " The Snow Goose", which was his only real critical success-I thnk he wrote it when he was only 20.!
Best wishes

And it's very cool how they share leadership - the goose at the front of the vee takes the most effort (wind) and cuts the way for those behind. The lead position changes frequently and smoothly, like an aerial dance.

It's faily true. I've found that when many people try to lecture me about what is good, just, bad or acceptable, that they really don't understand the meaning of the words coming out of their mouth.

It's refreashing when you attempt to look at the world beyond our social and normal sensory constructs.

It's like noticing that the sun doesn't actually revolved around the earth.
