just an other brick in the wall?

Do people actually realize that the majority of immigrants who enter the US come legally and then simply overstate their visa, hence by that action become illegal?!
Nevertheless, congress and the prez signed a bill that will give the green light to build a 700 mile fence on the Mexican border, with cameras, sensors, drones and all the technological schnick-schnack you could ever imagine. So what good does that do besides gobbling up billions of my tax dollars and destroying hundreds of acres of nature? Can you truthfully imagine that immigrants, and god forbid terrorists, will be kept away?
Besides the lack of a comprehensive plan on how to deal with seasonal workers and immigrants at the southern border, it disturbs me greatly that people here believe in building walls instead of building bridges ...
... same goes for Israel!

It'll give the country a real 1970's, East-Germany-ish feeling, very retro. I'm sure it's a fashion statement.

I love the photo, it's perfect.

I think that until sept 11 if you are a middle class from nowhere, well nuthin happens
the GUYS are pissed off with the low social classes...

but now many people have problems

my sister is in NY and she stay in an aparment with USA people and take classes..
but she have a bad moment in the migration office...
and she get internat cred card, cash, the USA adress, the school, etc (and she looks like a current white people)
so I can imagine the heavy problems that people have in the border...

does remind you of the Berlin wall doesn't it?

Yes Palo, the Berlin wall comes to mind.
Ah Mirvat, long time no see :)
Physical walls or fences are the outer expression of inner blockades ...

Zee, day after day I come across people who have put up walls around themselves, out of fear... Unfortunately it doesn't surprise me that people want to put up "physical" walls or fences to "protect" their country. What they don't realise (in my opinion) is that by doing this they are also missing out on so much!!

I loved the photos :-)

translucency is the key, Sunrise, but you knew that already ...

I somehow cannot imagine that that wall is really going to be built. As Lewis Black said in his 'red white and screwed' routine, they'll be arguing over the colour of the wall for years to come.
Idioten!
